"My sister and I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel. It was everything that we were hoping it would be. Our room, #196, was beautiful with lovely floral wallpaper and our own balcony where we enjoyed morning coffee. In the afternoon we relaxed in comfortable rocking chairs and enjoyed tea on the Grand's famous porch, the largest in the world. The dining room is grand indeed and the meals were delicious. On our second day we took a carriage tour around the island that was cozy, fun and informative, and in mid October the Fall colors were at peak. It was a lovely trip and I recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to go."
"We stayed two nights at the Grand Hotel for our anniversary, and it was unforgettable. The 4th floor added a little extra mystery — I was even woken at 3 AM by the sound of balls rolling overhead, a fun twist on the island’s ghost stories. Meals in the Main Dining Room were a highlight, and the staff keeps traditions alive beautifully. Early mornings brought the clip-clop of delivery horses, barns bustling, and the kitchen already prepping breakfast — the island wakes up gently, and it’s magical to witness. Tips: Take a private carriage tour for a quieter experience, rent a bike for the island loop, and pack washable shoes since the streets are shared with horses. The Grand Hotel is part history, part elegance, part storybook charm — it’s not modern, and that’s the magic. Google would not let me add pictures"
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Stunning and Timeless! We didn’t stay overnight at the Grand Hotel, but just visiting was an experience in itself. The atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking — from the beautifully maintained gardens to the iconic front porch with sweeping views of the Straits of Mackinac. The historic charm and elegance of the hotel are unmatched. Every corner feels like a step back in time, with classic decor, horse-drawn carriages arriving out front, and a peaceful, luxurious vibe that’s rare to find today. Even just walking through the public areas, you can feel the grandeur and history of this place. It's truly one of Mackinac Island’s crown jewels. If you're visiting the island, taking time to explore or have a drink on the porch at the Grand Hotel is an absolute must!"
